All teachers is playing a Traditional Game and Mini Sport like Congkak, Walk using Coconut Shell while Carrying a Ping-Pong Ball in the Spoon, Slingshots Battle, Batu Seremban, Kick the Ball into the Basket and  Pop Quiz about IISP and Olympic.

ICT Course



On 28th Mac 2012, we had our 2nd ICT Course. The objective was to continue polish our skills in ICT such as presentation using power point, making pamphlet and updating YSL blogspot.

Among the facillitator for this 2nd course was our senior YSL Malcolm Lunginus and YSL Mohd Rahmat.

IT Course 2011

On 2nd and 3rd November ago, the senior YSL held a IT Course to instruct and enhance their experience in ICT.

There are 7 junior YSL as participants that Ota, Leonard, Harold, Carol, Elsie, Sylvianie and Oberni and had 5 Senior YSL as facilitator that Rahmat, Malcolm, Iffah, Hasmah and Nurdalilah. They are given guidance and work to create brochures and presentations on the first day. On the second day, they are taught how to make a short documentation film about the title we provided.

Mini Sport Festival 2011




On 1st to 3rd last year, 21 junior YSL had organized a Mini Sport Festival at SMK Keningau. They were taught by two teachers and 15 senior YSL to organizing this event.

They are given within 3 days to prepare before the festival begins. The festival, attended by 100 students in form one. Participants are divided into 20 groups (nation A & nation B), representing 10 countries involved in International Inspiration as Brazil , South Africa, and India.

New YSL knows how to organize sporting events or any event. They were given the opportunity to create new games for children and the disabled. eg Throw Legs, Doom Man Dishes, Quizzes about International Inspiration Sport Program and PetanQ.

In this program, the explanation given by Young Sports Leaders to play the game get to increase the confidence and courage to speak English in front of the public. Their leadership skills could be improved in.

Starts his careers as a geography teacher at SMK Nabawan Keningau.(1987-1989)
Was selected as a senior assistant at SMK Tenom.(1990-1993)
Transferred to SM Agama Inanam, Kota Kinabalu(1994)
Work at SMK Keningau as a senior assistant(1994-1996)
Assistant education officer of Keningau for 3 years(1996-1999)
Education Officer of Nabawan(1999-2003)
Principal of SMK Bahang, Kota Kinabalu for 4 months(2004)
Principal of SMK Keningau, Keningau(2004-12 Feb 2010)

Earth Day 2009

A few activities such as Cleaning up, planting and etc managed to be organised and participated by students from secondary school in Keningau district...A few activities such as Cleaning up, planting and etc managed to be organised and participated by students from secondary school in Keningau district. The school are SM. St Francis Xavier, SMK. Keningau II, SMK. Gunsanad,SMK. Gunsanad II,SM. Teknik Keningau and of course our school SMK. Keningau. On the 22nd of April 2009, Dreams and Teams of SMK. Keningau managed to organised Earth Day Celebration in school and in Keningau District. We are really thankful with the support from each and every one who involved in this programme directly or in direct. Especially our principal, Mr. Masly Wahip when we discuss about the event that will be organised at the same time but at two different places. We divided our team into 2 groups. Team A leaded by YL Bibiyani, Adnan, Nur syahidah, Siti Hasmah, Farouq, Iffah, Dayriena, Marcellus and Chrispine. The event began with National Anthem and State Anthem been sing by all the students and teachers. Then YL Farouq recite prayer for this special event. The event continued with speech from Mr.Abdul Hadi our Vice Principal of Curiculum & Administration to officially declared the lauching of Earth Day in school when he untied the rope at the Earth Day banner. As a symbol of supporting Earth Day Celebration and it’s objective, Keningau tree were planted by Mr. Abdul Hadi. After the ceremony at school finished, Team A went to Keningau Sport Complex to support Team B. Where as Team B leaded by YL Deecruz, Ellysa, Saprudin, Fevian, Dale, Lorenzo, Elna, Edna, Clyna, Awang Faiz, Saharidzy, Malcolm, Adam, Debbie and Chelsea. The celebration began at Keningau Sport Complex where our Guest of Honour, Mdm. Betty Leong officiated the launching of Earth Day Run. The run was from Keningau Sport Complex and ended at Padang Bandaran Keningau. As we reached there, the participants were given a rest before we proceeded with the next activity. The next activity were cleaning up Keningau Town for about 45 minutes. The participants were grouped 5 in a team and each group has a target area. That experienced were so meaningful to all of us. We are so happy we could do something for our town and of course our Earth. As we come to the end of the event, planting Keningau tree known as cinnamon were planted by Mdm. Betty Leong (representative from Keningau District Eucation Department), Mr. Abdul Hadi and Mr. Abdul Gani Ajim (representative from organizing school), participating students (representative from participating school) and YL Chelsea and Saharidzy (representative for Dreams and Teams). As a token of appreciation from the organising team and support shown by the school that participated, Earth Day banner were also given to the representatives. We hope the message could be spread to their school community.

A Visit To SMK Keningau

On 26th of March 2009, SMK Keningau had a visitor from the Delegation of UK Sport Council and British Council UK and Malaysia leaded by Ms. Deborah Jane Lye. She is also Head of World Wide Impact, International Inspiration and the Director of General Education British Council UK. Mr. Youssouf Oomar UNICEF Deputy representative of UNICEF Malaysia and Brunei. (Yg. Berbahagia) Datuk Dr. Salbiah Bte Ismail, the Director of Malaysia Examination Board. Mr. Hj. Roslan, EPRD Deputy Director, Ministry of Education Malaysia, Dr. Hj. Muhidin Yusin, Deputy Diector Sabah Education Department and the delegates from Ministry of Education.

An opening traditional Murut dance was performed by Dreams and Teams Young Leader Clyna as the leader for the group, together with the traditional instrument played by the upper form students.

This event began with the Principal speech, Mr. Masly Wahip in English and Malay version stated about the school background, school strength and challenges that we had. There were also presentation about Dreams and Teams progamme in SMK. Keningau presented by the Dreams and Teams Club President, Young Leader Ellysa Debby Lunginus and Young Leader Bibiyani Omar. The slideshow was prepared by the Young Leaders all by themselves which leaded by Young Leader Saprudin Damrih. This slideshow contained information about the Dreams and Teams programme, how the journey begins at SMK. Keningau, what are the activities that had been organised or participated and the impact to the Young Leaders who had leave the school.

The interesting part was during the Q&A session. We received a lot of questions about our participation in the programme and we are proud and happy we give our best to answer them all. At that point, we all agreed this visit does give us all a valueable lesson to learn. We still need to improved ourselves not only in communication skills but also as an open eye for all of us we must be ready to face situation such as Q&A.
